Hours of Operation

Doc does not have set hours, but our cinema doors typically open 30 minutes before the first screening of the day and close 15 minutes after the last screening of the day. If you need access to the space outside of those hours or if you think you lost something in the cinema, please send us an email or leave a voicemail.



Tickets

In-Person

Single tickets and passes can be bought at the theater 30 minutes before each screening. Quarterly membership passes grant holders free entry to all general admission films for the quarter.

Tickets may be purchased with cash or credit card. There is a Citibank ATM in Ida Noyes for your convenience.


Pass discounts: Doc offers discounts on our quarter passes. Please let a ticket seller know if the following applies to you:

Group discounts: We also sell single tickets at a $5/ticket discount for parties of 8 or more, but you must send us an email or voicemail ahead of time.



Online

Doc sells tickets and quarter passes online here through the Logan Box Office. Tickets links can also be found beneath the description of each film on this website.

Note: discounts cannot be applied to online purchases.




Directions

Doc Films is located in the Max Palevsky Cinema in Ida Noyes Hall at The University of Chicago (1212 East 59th Street, Chicago, IL 60637). Persons with a disability who may need assistance can contact us by email or phone.


Public Transportation: The CTA bus #6 (Jackson Park Express) will take you from downtown Chicago to Hyde Park. Catch the bus southbound on State Street in the Loop. Get off at 59th Street, walk under the train tracks, and continue west to Ida Noyes Hall. You can also catch the Metra Electric commuter train at the Randolph, Van Buren, or Roosevelt station. Get off at 59th Street and walk west to Ida Noyes Hall.


Parking: On-street parking is available on the Midway Plaisance, 59th Street, and Woodlawn Avenue. All University parking lots are free and open to the public on weekdays after 4:00 p.m. and at all times on Saturday and Sunday.
